Our AI statement
This page sets out how we use AI at Bromley Healthcare.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Bromley Healthcare are committed to providing safe, high-quality care and improving your experience when accessing our services. We also value innovation and are continuously exploring ways to enhance efficiency and improve patient care, including the responsible use of digital technologies. As part of this, we are introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in a limited, carefully governed, and controlled manner to support specific aspects of our work.
How we use AI
AI is being used to automate some of our administration processes helping us to speed up the amount of time it takes to process your referral and send you correspondence about your care.
AI is not making decisions about your clinical care. All clinical decisions are made by our healthcare professionals, who remain fully responsible for your treatment and care.
Safety, ethics, and oversight
We understand the importance of maintaining trust and transparency. Any AI technology we use is:
- Clinically risk assessed and safety assured before implementation
- Regularly monitored and audited to ensure it continues to operate safely and effectively
- Designed and reviewed in line with NHS standards, data protection laws, and ethical guidance
Protecting your data, privacy, and wellbeing is our highest priority. Please see our privacy statement.
Supporting the NHS Long Term Plan
Our use of AI supports the NHS’s long-term ambition to modernise services and improve patient care. By safely automating routine administrative tasks, AI helps to:
- Reduce waiting times and possible delays
- Free up staff time so they can focus more on direct patient care
- Improve efficiency and service responsiveness
This aligns with national goals to make better use of digital technology while ensuring care remains person-centred, safe, and equitable.
