Complex communication diagnostics

If a child is suspected of having Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a visit to our service could be the first step.

Find out more about Complex communication diagnostics

Overview

If your child may have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), our service could be the first step. Our specialist team, from various clinical backgrounds, works closely with you and your child to understand their needs and, where appropriate, provide a diagnosis.

We collaborate with families and local services to ensure that, once the assessment is complete, you are connected with the right support and resources for ongoing help.

Calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes. To find out more, visit Personal information – Bromley Healthcare.

Using the service

You cannot refer your child directly to this service.

If you think your child might need this service, their teacher or someone involved in their education or work placement must refer them.

GPs can refer children who have not started school.

For older children or young people who are not attending school (such as those who are home-schooled), there are some additional steps.

Please see our referral criteria for more information: Community Paediatrics Referral Criteria – July 2024.
