Today is Time to Talk Day 2022!
The aim of Time to Talk Day is to get people to choose to talk about mental health and by doing so help change lives.
It’s a chance for all of us to open up to mental health — to talk, to listen, to change lives.
What are the different types of mental health conditions?
Time to Talk Day is also about encouraging people to educate themselves more on different mental health conditions and to help lessen the stigma around the topic.
Below are just some of the different mental health conditions that someone may deal with…
-
- Anxiety
- panic attacks;
- bipolar disorder;
- depression;
- eating disorders;
- personality disorders;
- suicidal feelings;
- self-harm.
How to get involved with Time to Talk Day
There are many ways that you can get involved this year, and they’re easy.
-
- Have a conversation with someone about mental health – this could be a friend, family member, colleague…
- If you feel comfortable to – share your experiences online. Talking about what you have been through could help so many others who may be going through something similar.
- Volunteer your time to support a mental health charity.
- Reach out for support if you are finding it difficult to cope – nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-psychological-therapies-service
