LaingBuisson, Nursing Times and Royal College of Nursing Awards Finalists!

Bromley Healthcare is a finalist in four categories in the LaingBuisson, Nursing Times and Royal College of Nursing Awards

UK 29th September 2021 – Bromley Healthcare announced today that their Children and Young People Hospital@Home Service has been shortlisted three times in both the Nursing Times Awards,, Royal College of Nursing Awards and LaingBuisson Awards. In addition to this a separate nomination for the Bromley Covid-19 Monitoring Service has also been shortlisted in the Nursing Times Awards.

The Children’s and Young People Hospital@Home Service are a team of experienced paediatric nurses who provide safe and effective hospital treatment in the home environment supported by clinical colleagues at Kings College Hospital (Princess Royal University Hospital). The service aims to reduce hospital admissions and facilitate early discharge. They support children and families who would otherwise need to be admitted to the Children’s Ward or attend hospital daily for treatment and ward review, by providing treatment, assessment, support and health promotion to families in their home. Receiving treatment at home instead of in hospital helps families to feel more comfortable and maintain their normal day to day activities.

The Bromley Covid-19 monitoring service working with One Bromley8 Partners was set up to assess and monitor patients with symptoms of Covid-19 registered with Bromley GPs in response to the pandemic of coronavirus in 2019. The service comprises a 24 hour telephone triage service, oximetry, medical prescribing, video consultations, home visits as well as ‘hot hubs’ where patients can be physically seen and assessed by a GP.

Jacqui Scott, CEO from Bromley Healthcare, “we are delighted to be announced as finalists at such prestigious awards. To receive four nominations is extremely humbling and demonstrates the value, collaboration and effectiveness of our service.  The work of our team at Bromley Healthcare has improved patient care as well as setting a new standard of excellence and I am extremely proud of what we have been able to deliver”.

The Royal College of Nursing Awards on 12th October 2021, Nursing Times Awards on 27th October 2021 and the LaingBuisson Awards are on Thursday 18th November 2021.
