As the NHS turns 73 today we would like to take the opportunity to say thank you. Thank you to all of our colleagues for their support and care day in and day out.
The NHS has been through a year like no other. It has been extremely challenging, and has affected us all in different ways. Although it has been a difficult year, it has also been a year of hope.
Hospitals have cared for around 400,000 seriously ill COVID-19 patients, and at the same time the NHS has rolled out the biggest vaccination programme in health service history. There has been a huge success with the vaccination programme; the NHS could not have achieved this without the returners, volunteers, other keyworkers and members of the public. Well done to all of you for your amazing dedication and work.
