On Your Feet Britain encourages workers across Britain to unite together and participate in a variety of fun and simple activities to #SitLess and #MoveMore at work. The On Your Feet Britain Challenge dares you to convert ‘sitting time’ to ‘standing time’ by following some simple changes.
Here are some small changes you can make in the office to help you get more active:
-Stand while speaking on the phone
-Eat your lunch away from your desk
-Use the stairs
-Go to talk to your colleagues rather than calling or sending them an email
On the 26th April do what you can throughout your day to move more and sit less- walk partly to work, go out for a walk in the day, visit a colleague at the other side of the office or just stand up from your chair every half hour.
And if you see anyone around you not moving from their seat- encourage them to! Sitting in one position for too long can badly affect your physical health.
