Parents in Bromley can now download a free app packed full of up to date, valuable information about our school nurse service.
The Bromley School Health Matters app is available for free download from The App Store or Google Play and can be accessed on smart phones and tablets.
The app is designed to be easy to use, with bite size information about all aspects of the school nurse service for children and young people aged five to 19 in the borough.
The app includes details on what the school nurse services does, who their child’s school nurse is and how to contact them. It provides advice about healthy living, emotional wellbeing, immunisation and common childhood illnesses. Parents can also find out more about the topics covered in Your Choice Your Voice – education and advice about sex and relationships provided in secondary schools for year nine students.
Head of School Nursing in Bromley, Marie Rogan, said: “Parents across the UK wanted to know more about their child’s school nurse service and Bromley School Health Matters is a free, visible and useful way of doing this. We hope parents find this service helpful and reassuring.”
School nurses are nurses or midwife’s who have been specifically trained to work with children and young people. They have a vital role in helping to improve their health and wellbeing.
