This new award is for an individual or team that has shown that they have made a significant impact on equality, diversity and inclusion through working with colleagues and staff, and/or our patients and families.

Recognising commitment and excellence in patient care

This award acknowledges the unique contributions that Sue Chadwick and Massey Zekavatbakhsh made to health services in Bromley.

Sue worked in the NHS for many years. Our predecessors, Bromley Primary Care Trust, together with Sue’s family decided to honour her name by establishing an award.

Massey worked in Bromley as a staff nurse for over 30 years before sadly passing away. Her colleagues recommended that an award be set up in her honour to recognise her contribution to services and that she was a great team player.

This year we have combined Sue and Massey’s awards under the new 'Compassion in Action' (Clinical) award for clinicians from all disciplines.

This award is aimed at colleagues and teams who are committed to delivering excellent, compassionate patient care; this includes all registered and unregistered professionals in health and care.

Recognising non-clinical colleagues’ commitment for their part in the smooth running of the organisation and delivery of services

Charlotte Hails worked for Bromley Healthcare and its predecessor organisation for a number of years. In 2012, Charlotte won one of the first Bromley Healthcare awards by demonstrating ‘compassion in action’. In recognition of the significant contribution Charlotte made to Bromley Healthcare in both establishing the organisation and establishing new services, this award is named in her memory.

This award recognises an individual or team that has risen to the challenges we face, to ensure the organisation continues to run smoothly.

Recognising learning and it's application in healthcare practice

The Continuous Learning Award recognises the contribution that any individual or team, whose learning and development experience has had a positive impact on the organisation.

This award is for an individual or team who has undertaken learning and implemented this in the workplace to deliver a demonstrable difference to the organisation, services or patient care.

The Continuous Learning Award recognises the contribution that any individual or team whose learning and development experience has had a positive impact on the organisation.

This award recognises a team or individual that has made a big improvement through innovation. They may have made changes to the way they work, developed or undertaken service/quality improvement, technology, education or training for the benefit of colleagues, patients and service users, team, or the organisation as a whole.

Recognising outstanding leadership skills and contribution

This award recognises a leader whose contribution and leadership skills have been outstanding and have delivered tangible benefits for colleagues, the organisation, or wider Bromley partnership.

This award is for an outstanding individual who has demonstrated the values of Bromley Healthcare in successfully leading a team or service.

Recognising exceptional patient care

This award recognises an individual or team who, through patient feedback, plaudits and compliments, has been identified by our patients as a compassionate, caring colleague or team, who puts our communities first and delivers the highest quality of care.

Recognising those who have improved patient care through partnership working

The Working Together in Partnership Award recognises those colleagues who have worked successfully in partnership with others (internal or external) and in establishing successful partnership arrangements, delivering improved services and experience for our patients.

This award is for an individual or team whose ability to develop partnership working has had a positive impact on services and patient care.

Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT)

The Children's Community Nursing Team was just one of last year's winners of this award. Here's the nomination:

"The CCNT are a small group of highly dedicated compassionate nurses who care for children in the borough with long-term and complex health needs including ventilated children and those with cancer. They also care for children who are palliative and end of life, supporting the child, parents, siblings, and wider family unit during this incredibly stressful time to allow the child to die in their own home with dignity and love. In the last few years, we have seen an increase in the number of End of Life children and young people we are caring for and the nurses have gone above and beyond for these families to ensure the best possible care. Helping families and children fulfill many of their wishes and create lasting memories before they die. They flex to work a 24 hour on-call rota, sometimes for weeks at a time, to ensure the child can stay at home and doesn't need to go to the hospital or to a hospice. The care and compassion the nurses provide is second to none for those particular children and families, but also for all the other children on our caseload, and for each other through these emotionally stressful and difficult times. We are nominating the Children’s Community Nursing Team as we believe they deserve recognition for the hard working and dedicated team they are."
